      UNL Extension Offers Educational Opportunities Throughout the Summer Months

      The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Hall County Extension Office has all sorts of educational opportunities available to youth during the summer months.

      Kids College offers partial and full day classes where extension staff and qualified volunteers teach a wide range of topics, including: photography, science, ceramics, sewing, baking, animal science, plants and outdoor adventures.

      The classes are designed to teach youth valuable life skillsby offering hands-on "learning by doing" opportunities that enhance theirpersonal development.

      Also taking place this summer in Hall County is the National 4H Shooting Sports Invitational.

      The invitational will be held at the Heartland Public Shooting Park and the Heartland Events Center from June 23 through June 28.

      Volunteers are needed for the event. All positions report at 7:30 a.m. and most are done by noon. For those that need to travel, it is important to register by Friday, May 24 as rooms are being held until noon on Friday.
