UNL to Hold Debate Over the Legalization of Marijuana


The University Program Council at the University ofNebraska-Lincoln will present "Heads vs. Feds: The Debate Over theLegalization of Marijuana," at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 7 in the Centennial Roomof the Nebraska Union, 14th and R streets.

Steve Hager, former editor-in-chief of High Times Magazine, is going to be debating with veteran Drug Enforcement Agency special agent BobStutman on issues surrounding the legalization of marijuana.

The debate will be entirely driven by student questions.

Stutman, labeled as "the most famous narc inAmerica" by New York Magazine, served 25 years as one of the most high-profiledrug busters in the world. He has appeared frequently on hundreds of TV showsincluding "Today" and "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

Hager is a former reporter for the New York Daily News andwas editor of High Times Magazine for more than 16 years. Today, he remains asthe editor-at-large of High Times and writes monthly columns to the magazinetitled "Counterculture Chronicles."

The event will be free for UNL Students with a valid NCardand $5 for members of the public.
