Police now have a description of the man who allegedly robbed a Grand Island Wells Fargo.

They are searching for a black male between five feet nine inches and six feet tall weighing 155 pounds.

He is the suspect of a robbery of the Wells Fargo bank on Second Street in Grand Island that took place around 3 p.m. Monday, according to officers.

Customers tried to stop by to make deposits and do routine business, however, the doors were locked and shades were drawn.

One man said he came to put money in the bank. He told NTV, "It was closed and said maybe some people came here and robbed it, criminal people."

Police say the robber showed the teller a note, but did not brandish a gun.

The teller complied with the note, and the robber took the money and left.

The police are continuing to investigate.

A spokesperson for Wells Fargo had no comment, except to say they were working closely with police to assist in the investigation.
