Voters Asked to Consider $13 Million Boone Central School Bond

A $13 million bond issue will be put before voters in November to make improvements at Boone Central Schools.

Supporters held meetings to set priorities for a new plan after a $21 million proposal to build a new high school and renovate other buildings failed in 2012.

The new proposal would see most of the money going toward a new kitchen and offices for the Albion school campus. The plan also includes a new commons area, gymnasium, locker rooms and fitness center.

Other work that would be paid for by the bond issue includes renovated science rooms and fire sprinklers added to the elementary school and secure entrances at the middle school in Petersburg.
