Wal-Mart Amps Up Holiday Hires While Target Scales Back
Wal-Mart is uppingits holiday hiring.
The world's largestretailer said that it is bringing on 55,000 seasonal workers to handle the Christmasrush this year. That's up from 50,000 last year.
To compare theirhiring hike with another major retailer, target plans to hire fewer holidayworkers this year.
Target corporationplans to hire about 70,000 employees, more than Wal-Mart's 55,000, but stilldown from their 88,000 seasonal hires last year.
