In 600cities across the country, thousands of people will walk to onedestination: a world free of MultipleSclerosis. Register for the annual Walk MS eventat Barr Middle School on Saturday, April 27 to join in the movement.
Money raised by the event will providefunds for local programs and services and research on a national level. The event itself looks to create a hope-filled andenjoyable atmosphere for everyone affected by MS while generating a greaterawareness of Multiple Sclerosis in the public at large.
"WalkMS provides the means and a way to bring the community together for the MScause," said Kay Julian, chapter president for the Mid-America Chapter of theNational MS Society. "It's a way forpeople affected by MS and people connected to MS to walk, volunteer andparticipate all for the cause."
Walk MSincludes three and six mile routes, complete with rest stops, snacks andencouragement from volunteers. The walkalso has an accessible route so people of all abilities can participate.
Individuals have the option to register alone or as part of a team. Those that don't want to walk can help the cause by volunteering at a rest stop or donating to the cause. Register online atMSmidamerica.org or call 1-800-344-4867.
