Arkanjelo Kot

A Grand Island man acquitted of murder charges but wanted by police on another charge has turned himself in.

According to the city of Grand Island's Facebook page, Arkanjelo Kotturned himself in Monday.

A Hall County warrant had been issued for Kot for failing to appear for a pre–trial hearing on a charge of assaulting acorrections officer.

Kot allegedly assaulted a jail guard on June 15, while in jail on a first-degree murder charge and a weapons charge. The original charges stemmed from the shooting death of Walid Omar-Aden, 21, at a Grand Island convenience store. Kot was found not guilty on those charges by a jury last November.

Kot pleaded not guilty to the assault charge last September.
