Watson to be Added to Ballot for U.S. Senate Race

The Secretary of State's office says enough signatures have been collected to add another name in the race for U.S. Senate.

Secretary of State John Gale says more than 4,000 signatures have been verified to put Todd Watson on the ballot as an independent candidate this November.

Watson submitted more than 5,000 signatures to Gale's office. Only 4,000 verified signatures were needed, with at least 750 of those signatures coming from each of Nebraska's three congressional districts.

Watson will join another independent candidate, Jim Jenkins to face off against Republican Ben Sasse and Democrat David Domina for the seat being vacated by U.S. Sen. Mike Johanns.
