Policein the south-central Kansas community of Stafford think a fire that burned downthe town's old high school may be arson.
Thefire took place over the weekend and was spotted by a police officer on patrolSaturday night. The officer reported a major fire coming out of the building'sthird floor around 10 p.m.
StaffordPolice Chief Doug Brown said the wind sent embers flying from the buildingwhich cased around a dozen smaller fires to ignite within a two-block area.
Theformer high school was more than 90 years old and had closed in the late 1990'swhen a new school opened. Brown said the building is now owned by a Texas manwho planned to open a school for Vietnamese children in the building.
