West Nile Still a Threat

Although birds and mosquitoes are no longer being collected for testing, people should continue to protect themselves from mosquito bites.

Two Rivers has received recent notification of positive mosquito pools in Phelps and Dawson Counties. Mosquitoes will continue to be active until we have a hard freeze.

During outside activities, students, coaches and fans still need to protect themselves against mosquitoes carrying West Nile Virus.

Although there has been a decrease in the overall number of mosquitoes, the number of mosquitoes carrying the virus seems to have increased.

6 possible cases of west nile have been reported in the Two Rivers District, they have not been confirmed, but are possible cases.

Health officials want to remind everyone that until it freezes, continue to be wary of mosquitoes.
