Work Ethic Camp Escapee Sentenced to More Time

A Wyoming man who escaped Nebraska's work ethic camp will be serving extra time behind bars.

Drew Steier, 21, was sentenced last week in Red Willow District Court and was given two to three more years in prison.

According to authorities, Steier climbed a fence at the camp and traveled on foot to McCook where he stole a car. He was arrested a few weeks later in Evanston, Wyoming.

He pleaded guilty to felony escape and theft. The two sentences are to be served at the same time.

At the time of his escape Steier was serving time for attempted robbery at a bank in Wallace.
