Wyoming Man Makes Plea Deal in Attempted Wallace Bank Robbery
A 20-year-old Wyoming man has been convicted for attempting to rob Farmers State Bank in Wallace on Aug. 13.
Drew Steier, of Evanston, Wyo., will be sentenced on April 8 after pleading no contest to the charge in exchange for a recommendation for a shorter sentence. Prosecutors have agreed to recommend a sentence of 18 to 36 months.
Authorities say Steier and his partner, 53-year-old Tracy Black, walked into the bank wearing a ski mask and wielding a BB gun.
Police say the pair fled the bank without any money and no one was injured.
The men were captured near Imperial about an hour later.
Black, also from Evanston, Wyo., is scheduled to be sentenced on March 25 after also pleading no contest to attempted robbery.
