Conference focused on ending youth homelessness
A conference is planning to will bring together a wide range of national and regional leaders seeking solutions to homelessness among teens and young adults in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska on Tuesday.
The Department of Health and Human Services will be hosting “Ending Youth Homelessness in the Heartland."
Statistics show that youth homelessness in those four states grew 17 percent in 2016, to more than 1,100. Among these people, age 24 and younger, the number of unsheltered youths living on the street jumped 55 percent from the previous year according to the Department of Health and Human Services.
