      Super Bowl Hot Dog Chili Topper

      Ingredients:



      • 2
        pounds ground beef

      • 1
        whole finely chopped onion

      • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic or 2 cloves of garlic

      • 1/4 cup tomato paste

      • 2-5 tablespoons chili powder (to taste)

      • 2
        teaspoons sugar

      • 1
        teaspoon cumin

      • 1 bay leaf

      • 2
        cups beef broth

      • 6 tablespoons corn meal

      • 2
        teaspoons salt

      • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil


      Saute onion and
      garlic in oil until golden. Add chili powder, sugar, and cumin. Stir for 1
      minute, then add in beef.


      Brown the beef then stir in remaining ingredients. Reduce
      heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Remove bay leaf .


      Use a potato
      masher and slightly mash the chili until thick. Place on top of hot dog and add additional toppings to taste.



      *Makes about 20 servings.
