pounds ground beef
whole finely chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic or 2 cloves of garlic
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 2-5 tablespoons chili powder (to taste)
- 1 bay leaf
cups beef broth
- 6 tablespoons corn meal
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
Saute onion and
garlic in oil until golden. Add chili powder, sugar, and cumin. Stir for 1
minute, then add in beef.
Brown the beef then stir in remaining ingredients. Reduce
heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Remove bay leaf .
Use a potato
masher and slightly mash the chili until thick. Place on top of hot dog and add additional toppings to taste.
