State Fair Adds Parking, Sky Tram, and Fried Girl Scout Cookies
As if more parking and more attractions weren't enough, the Nebraska State Fair adds more food.
Fried girl scout cookies are all the rage this year, and many of your fair favorites will be back.
Outdoor exhibition space is nearly full. Vendors who want indoor booth space won't find any.
State Fair Facilities Director Jaime Parr said, "We have been sold out and a waiting list. That's something we never had in Lincoln so that's new to this area and we can thank Grand Island and communities surrounding Grand Island for that."
Also new at the fair this year is a classic tractor parade. They're shooting for a world record with that. They could have 750 tractors or more, which may parade for a couple of hours to beat the record.
The State Fair Board met Friday. They heard reports on the recent cattle shows that received rave reviews, and learned sponsorships for the fair are also running high.
Sponsorships for 2012 are up about 7% to $543,500 which is low compared to other state fairs but rising.
