Sunday Salute: Cal Hockley

This week we salute Cal Hockley for his service to our country.

Cal served as a member of the U.S. Army overseas in Germany during WWII. As a belly gunner on B-17's, he flew numerous missions.

On Cal's 25th mission his plane was shot down by a M-E 262 German jet fighter. He became a prisoner of war and survived the ordeal, but sadly the majority of his crew was killed.

Cal hails from Cozad Nebraska and was nominated by Dennis Beavers. Dennis says Cal is a "wonderful fellow" deserving of recognition.

Cal, thank you for your service to our country.
