This week we salute Fred Zerr, who was laid to rest on Friday in Ravenna.
He served our country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from September of 1970 to 1972.
After the war, Fred married his wife Margaret and they made their home in Ravenna. Their 25th wedding anniversary was coming up this July.
Fred was nominated by his brother Adam, who still lives in Norton, Kansas where Fred was born.
Adam said it would mean a lot to him to be able to honor his brother with a salute.
Fred leaves behind his wife, their twin son and daughter, a grandson, Lucas, as well as his two brothers.
Fred thank you for your service to our country and our thoughts are with the family you've left behind.
