Sunday Salute: Michael Reeves


This week we honor Army Specialist MichaelAaron Reeves who, his sister says, is a hero to the entire family.

Michael served in his first tour ofduty in Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn from February to November of2011.

He is currently stationed at Fort Hoodin Texas where he is a tank gunner on the M1A1 Abram.

Before entering the army, Michael wasa stand-out athlete at Elm Creek High School where he graduated in 2010. Heplans to attend UNL when he returns home.

Michael was nominated by his oldersister Brandy. She said he first spoke of joining the army at the age of four.

She says "he is our family's heroand we couldn't be prouder of the man and solder he's become. He istruly the proudest American I've ever met. He loves his country and honorably servesit."

She sends her love and says she can'twait for him to come home on Independence Day and feels like the luckiestsister on the planet.
