Adams County Fair kicks off with parade for 145th year
HASTINGS, Neb. —
A time-honored tradition rolled through the city of Hastings as a way to usher in its namesake.
Hundreds of people lined Second Avenue Saturday morning for the annual Adams County Fairfest Parade.
The event has been the kickoff to the county fair dating back 145 years strong.
It's something officials say is a testament to the community.
"I'm glad it's gone on that long and hope to continue," said Jolene Laus with the Adams County Fairgrounds. "I think it's just the strong 4-H we have around here along with just the community, how they are so involved in it."
The Adams County Fair runs from July 19-23 in Hastings. NTV's own Ashia Aubrey was one of Saturday's judges at the parade
