Area musicians host benefit concert for man injured in head-on crash
KEARNEY, Neb. —
Local musicians came together at the World Theatre in Kearney on Saturday to support a fellow musician working to recover from a horrific crash.
Miles Margritz was severely injured during a head-on collision on Dec. 20 in Grand Island.
After hearing about the crash, Miles's friend Chad Biggs immediately began working to organize a benefit concert in his honor.
After one post on Facebook, he said about 150 people reached out wanting to help.
"You stop and think 'what can I do?' A lot of times you think about it for 15 seconds and think 'I'll give if I see something come up.' Once I got the response from people, it was like just run with it and see what happens. It's been amazing to see what's happened in the last couple weeks," Biggs said.
Friends and family said Miles had a passion and love for music that was seen in his work at Yandas Music Store and during worship at Grace Fellowship Church.
Four musicians performed at the benefit.
Money raised on Saturday will go directly to Miles Margritz and his family.
