Aurora man charged in child porn case

An Aurora man faces multiple counts of manufacturing child porn in Custer County.

Ross Carstensen faces five counts manufacturing visual decpition of sexually explicit conduct.

According to court documents, the charges stem from the investigation into a Hamilton County sexual assault.

A Nebraska State Patrol investigator said, through Carstensen’s fake Facebook account, he pressured a 17-year-old to send him explicit photos when he was 40. He said the account, “Brandon Thompson” had more than 1,440 friends with the majority of them being girls between ages of 16 and 20 years old.

Carstensen is out on bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for June 8, in Custer County Court.
