Snowstorm brings GI to a standstill
The blizzard forecast to hit Grand Island arrived late, but when it did, it brought strong winds and snow.
The City of Grand Island has declared a snow emergency. Hall County has followed suit. Schools and most government offices will be closed.
Mayor Jeremy Jensen encouraged businesses to close for the day as well.
Around 7 a.m. Monday, sustained winds around 30 miles an hour were blowing in Grand Island, with gusts near 45 mph.
