UPDATE: Police looking for driver after two-car crash in Grand Island
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. —
Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle involved in a two-car crash on Sunday.
According to the Grand Island Police Department, the driver of a red SUV fled the scene after colliding with a silver car at 2:40 p.m. at 10th and Eddy Streets. Witnesses reported seeing the driver of the red SUV traveling at high speeds and ran a red light.
Police are trying to locate and identify the driver of that vehicle. Police said the two people inside the other car were taken to CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island with non-life threatening injuries.
Police are now reporting that the vehicle that took off was stolen.
Officers said a utility pole was struck as the SUV overturned during the crash, but they believe everyone in the area still has working electricity.
