Hastings Public Library to reopen October 21 after remodel
HASTINGS, Neb. —
If you live in Hastings, you may have noticed you'd have to stop by the Hastings Museum to pick up a library book.
The Hastings Public Library has been under remodel for 18 months and is opening back up on Oct. 21.
The project cost over $5 million and has upgraded the library with many new features.
The library is now a total of three floors with a very own floor for kids and teens.
They have also added technological advancements like a 3-D printer, a laser cutter and a laminator.
The library even spent over $80,000 adding new books to their shelves.
“We’re just really excited for the public to see these new books and to get to use these books and to have the opportunity to check them out and read them," said Public Relations Officer for the library Morgan Karel.
The library is expecting to see over 800 people on opening day. They will have story times, treats and other fun activities for people to enjoy that day.
