Lawmakers set to discuss putting medical marijuana on November ballot
LINCOLN, Neb. —
A state senator is continuing to advocate for Nebraskans need of medical marijuana.
Sen. Anna Wishart is pushing to have a ballot measure on the issue.
She introduced the constitutional amendment and is set to be in a committee hearing on Thursday.
"If the legislators won't act then I believe it is time for the voters of Nebraska to have their say. At a time when many Americans feel like our politics divide us, I know medical cannabis is one issue where most Nebraskans can agree," Sen. Wishart said.
The proposal would need 30 votes to make it on the November ballot.
