Lexington Public Library starts fundraiser for Give Big Lexington
LEXINGTON, Neb. —
Dive in to the Treasure Trove at Lexington Public Library as they prepare for Give Big Lexington.
Give Big Lexington is a one–day online giving event hosted by the Lexington Community Foundation, making it easier for organizations and non–profits to fundraise and donors a way to give to a variety of organizations.
Local organizations and non–profits like Lexington Public Library are hoping to raise money prior to the big day, hosting events such as “The Treasure Trove” the library sells gently used items that are donated.
Each organization has the opportunity to host events to raise funds that have the possibility of being matched through share match dollars.
"We're raising money for new meeting room tables, as you can see our tables they are 12 years old so they've had a lot of use. So we have a treasure trove of things donated that are for sale throughout this month and we also have cook books," says Edna Schultz with the group Friends of the Library.
Their goal is raise enough funds to purchase 20 new tables that are used for events and meetings at the library.
In the last six years, Give Big Lexington has distributed $2.6 million to over 100 organizations.
This is the seventh year for the event and it will be held on Thursday November 16, for 24 hours online through www.giveBIGlexington.razoo.com

If you'd like to donate gently used items (clothes will not be accepted), visit the Lexington Public Library Monday through Friday 9am - 9pm; Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 1pm-5pm.
All donations or funds raised will count towards organizations total at the end of Give Big Lexington.
