Old Kearney High School vandalism case referred to Buffalo County Attorney
The June vandalism case at the old Kearney High School is now in the hands of the Buffalo County Attorney.
Investigators from the Kearney Police Department say the case against eight juveniles was sent over a couple weeks ago, after roughly two-and-a-half months of investigations and several man hours, interviewing about a dozen people and narrowing it down to eight suspects.
"Due to their age they weren't issued a citation or placed into custody," said Kearney Police Department Investigator Brad Butler. "They're referred to the Buffalo County Attorney's office requesting juvenile petitions, which means charges filed against a juvenile."
Investigator Butler says its unknown when charges will be filed, depending on the case load.
