Red Cross celebrates 100 years with blood drive goodies
OXFORD, Neb. —
The American Red Cross is celebrating 100 years of blood drives in Nebraska.
The Oxford community held their fourth blood drive of the year on Thursday, and donors came to give throughout the day - some even donated double.
In commemoration of 100 years, donors received a special gift and cupcakes to celebrate.
"Across the country right now, we are in an urgent need and it'll be there then for also if there is a need for when they call us up and need something for Harvey," Cathy Carman of the Red Cross. "We will meet those needs too."
The American Red Cross is always looking for eligible donors to assist in giving blood.
Just one donation helps save three lives.
