First responses to emergencies in the area will happen more quickly and effectively thanks to a large funding project by the CHI Health St. Francis Foundation, according to a press release by CHI Health.

St. Francis presented $56,740 to area first responders in Hall, Hamilton, Howard, Merrick and Greeley counties on Tuesday. The funds include $39,500 that was raised from this year’s Ticket to Win event and an additional $17,240 added by the St. Francis Foundation.

“We are so grateful to the community for the support they’ve shown for our area EMTs through our Ticket to Win fundraiser,” said Claire Aguilar, St. Francis Foundation director. “Their donations provided significant funding for area first responders to purchase equipment and educational materials that are not funded through their budgets.”
