UPDATE: Two Grand Island Public High Schools placed on lock down due to alarming text
A lock down was placed on two Grand Island high schools after reports of an "alarming text."
NTV News received news that Grand Island Northwest and Grand Island Senior High were both placed on lock down around the noon hour on Tuesday.
Reporters saw police on scene at both of the schools.
According to a Grand Island Police Department report, officers were notified of a social media direct message between two 16-year-old females where one mentions shooting up a school.
One of the girls attends Grand Island Northwest and the other attends Grand Island Senior High.
After investigation, one of the suspects was referred for terroristic threats and one suspect was referred for accessory to commit a felony.
