Warrant issued for suspect in Grand Island shooting
Grand Island, NEB. —
Grand Island police say a warrant has been issued for a man accused in a weekend shooting.
Alex H. Solis is wanted for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony for the shooting of Jessica Alvarez. Charges have been filed against him in Hall County Court.
Police previously told NTV Alvarez received a non-life threatening injury.
It was reported September 2, at 3033 West Capital Avenue.
G.I.P.D. said Solis is a 31-year-old Hispanic man, 5’4” tall and 170 pounds. Police said Solis may be more slender than pictures they’ve released and can be identified by a tattoo of praying hands on his neck.
Police are asking you to call G.I.P.D. with any information about Solis’ whereabouts. If sighted, they say use caution and contact 911.
Details of the case have been sealed by a judge. The county attorney filed a motion in court to prevent the release of information used to obtain the arrest warrant, saying it is an ongoing investigation, and releasing the information could "damage the integrity of the case."
Court records list a Kearney address for Solis.
