UPDATE: Woman charged with Grand Island hit-and-run appears in court
Robin Nehls, 48, made her first court appearance on Friday in Grand Island.
In court Friday, NTV learned that Nehls told police that she thought she hit a box and continued driving.
GIPD says Nehls was the driver in the hit-and-run that left a man dead near CHI St. Francis earlier this week.
She turned herself into police Thursday.
She's being charged with a class three felony for leaving the scene of an injury accident resulting in death.
We will have more information as it becomes available.
Nehls next hearing has been set for Sept. 25.
