Woman sues Custer County after once being charged in death of an infant
A woman once charged in the death of a Custer County infant is now suing the county.
In the suit, Jones said she was there to offer spiritual support and never presented herself as a certified-nurse midwife.
Authorities in Custer County said she misrepresented herself, but the case was later dropped.
Jones is suing, saying she was "unconstitutionally extradited, arrested and maliciously prosecuted, on two different occasions, for the death of Eli Fenske, in which she had no role."
She's seeking damages for pain and suffering, loss of earnings, punitive damages, as well as attorney's fees.
Her next court date is set for Nov. 7.
