Athleticism stands out for Jaylin Bradley

Jaylin Bradley's stock soaring as a senior at Bellevue West as he continued to astound with his numbers.

Finishing a yard short from a first down, on average, every time he ran the football. His 9.0 yards per carry got him to 2,915 and 50 touchdowns in 2016.

It's nice to have someone who can pop off at a moments notice when given the opportunity.

"He's really athletic and he's talented that way, which has stood out to me," said offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf.

Now the true freshman is vying for carries among seven other rushers in the Big Red backfield.

"He's got a ways to go in learning and understanding what we're doing, but he's working on it. Then when he has the ball in his hands, he's explosive. It's been fun to see," Langsdorf said.

As one of three running backs on the Husker roster, along with five I-backs and four other fullbacks, Bradley's knowledge of the offense must be equal or superior to his cohorts in order to get more snaps.

Nebraska's season begins Sept. 2 at home versus Arkansas State.
