Huskers elevate Ruud to assistant coach
LINCOLN, Neb. —
Barrett Ruud is the first to be known as the 10th assistant coach at Nebraska thanks to the NCAA's allowance of a 10th full–timer.
As the Blackshirts all–time leading tackler, Ruud is in charge of coaching the inside linebackers.
His record of 432 tackles at Nebraska is 90 better than the next closest of Jerry Murtaugh and 145 ahead of third place Mike Brown.
Ruud, an eight year NFL vet, spent the last two seasons working with head coach Scott Frost at Central Florida as the defensive quality control administrator.
