Nebraska baseball looking to bounce back after series loss to Iowa

Nebraska's Luis Alvarado scores a run during the Huskers loss to Iowa.

Over on the diamond, Nebraska dropping 2 of 3 to Iowa over the weekend. It's the first conference series loss of the season for Big Red and the first time in over a month that the Huskers have lost consecutive games.

The losses to the Hawkeyes dropping Nebraska to 4th place in the Big Ten standings. Husker pitching staff taking it on the chin, as Iowa racked up over 30 hits during the course of the series. Ultimately this weekend proving, that you have to bring your A game every time you step on the field.

"As deep as our league is with the kind of draw that we have, we face some very quality opponents," said head coach Darin Erstad. " We just don't have the luxury of showing up and rolling the balls out there and winning a series. That's just not going to happen. Not to mention we're not good enough to do that. So we have to reset and get back to playing like we have each day throughout the last month or so and I haven't seen a reason why we won't do that."

Nebraska making the short trek to Omaha tomorrow night for a match–up with the Creighton Blue–jays. First pitch is 6:30 on NET.
