Tanner Lee solid in his debut as starter

Nebraska quarterback Tanner Lee prepares to throw a pass. The Huskers held off a late rally by Arkansas State to win 43-36. (September 2, 2017) (KHGI)

Tanner Lee was a cool customer under center in his first start. His first touchdown throw in a Husker uniform came in the 2nd quarter, on a 44 yard toss to Stanley Morgan Jr. Lee connected with Morgan 5 times for 102 yards, both career highs for Stanley. Lee finished with 19 completions off 32 attempts and 2 TD. His 238 passing yards is third best among Nebraska QB's in their first start.

"I thought he was really solid," said offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf. "Good first game for him. Played smart and got us into some good situations you know call wise. I think overall I'm really pleased. "

"It was a lot of fun," said Lee. "Definitely the most fun I've had in a while. Extremely happy we got the win. A lot to build on, and a lot to work on. So I'm really looking forward to getting into next week and just watching the film."
