Bronco softball places five on GPAC 1st-team

Hastings College softball filling up the all–GPAC team with five members.

Starting with senior outfielder Cara Williams who had a team leading 14 doubles, hit .366 on the season and scored 47 runs, the second most among the Broncos.

Fellow senior outfielder Chloe Boeka, who hit .361, started in 55 games this year. She had a .416 OBP and 17 sacrifice hits, 12 more than anyone else.

Junior infielder Corrin Ziepke, scoring a team–best 48 runs, behind her ability to et on base with 60 hits, 13 of which were doubles and another 12 home runs.

Freshman infielder Lexie Linderman was the star of the season at the plate. Hittin clean up, she belted a .410 average, 16 home runs, 72 RBI, 77 hits, and a slugging percentage of .729. Her 137 total bases and 188 at bats were all team leading statistics.

And fellow first–year Bronco Taylor Asche makes the team as a utility player. The Omaha product knocked 11 home runs and boasted a .535 slugging percentage for the NAIA tournament qualifiers.

Now, the GPAC Tournament Champions are off to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where they will take on the Davenport University Panthers on Monday.

The Broncos have captured a win in 16 of their last 20.
