Broncos ease into GPAC semifinals

HASTINGS ---Hastings College made quick work of Concordia, -20, -17, -17, Saturday at Lynn Farrell Arena in the first round of the GPAC tournament.

Sage Meyer led the way for Hastings College with 13 kills on 31 attacks, while hitting .290. Meyer, who also had a team best 15 digs, has missed much of the season with an injury but seems to be rounding back into form nicely.

Senior Jill Bax had a pair of service aces and eleven digs in the match. Katie Placke did a little bit of everything as she typically does, with 20 assists and eight kills.

The Broncos were an extremely efficient .351 hitting, while allowing Concordia only a .106 attack percentage. The Broncos doubled up the Bulldogs with 8.0 total blocks. Andrea laVene had a match high five block assists.

Up next, Hastings College hosts No. 4 Midland, Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. in Hastings.
