UNK women's basketball adding a second transfer to the program with the incoming addition of Katey Brown from Missouri S&T, according to a release sent out by the school on Tuesday.

"We are very pleased to welcome Katey to our program. She has great size, athleticism, and a knack for rebounding the basketball that is difficult, if not impossible to teach," said head coach Carrie Eighmey. "Katey brings versatility to our team as she is capable of playing multiple positions."

Brown, who prepped at Guardian Angels Central Catholic, comes to Kearney after one year with the Miners.

Averaging 6.9 points per game as a freshman, Brown was the fourth leading scorer and top rebound grabber with a 5.2 average.

She started 11 of the 26 Science and Technology games last season and had the fourth most cumulative minutes.

Her three years of eligibility begin immediately.

"She is a tough competitor, a great teammate, and a fantastic student. Katey has already proven her ability to compete and contribute at the Division II level and we are excited to have her join our program," said Eighmey.

Brown led GACC to a runner-up finish in the girls C2 state tournament as a senior in the 2015-16 season.
