UNK Baseball working through a slump

UNK baseball searching for answers after a sweep at the hands of Pittsburg State. The loss yesterday leaving a mark. Lopers led the Gorillas 8–3 at one point, but Pittsburg State rallied to tie it up thanks to a 6 run 5th inning. Gorillas winning 10–9 in extra innings. Those 3 losses dropping UNK to 5–20 in the MIAA. Lopers staying positive as they navigate through a tough season.

"There's still a lot to play for," said head coach Damon Day. " There's still a lot of pride to play for. I feel confident that this team wants to get better every single day. You can tell with their effort level today there's no woe is us or feeling sorry for ourselves. I thought it was a vigorous workout. I thought it had good pace to it. I was very appreciative of the guys coming off the holiday weekend ready to go and ready to compete against Fort Hays."

Lopers facing their rival Fort Hays State tomorrow night on the road. After that, UNK playing their next 7 games at home...
