Early hole is easy climb for Storm
KEARNEY, Neb. —
Tri-City scored two second period goals and the game winner went to Tyler Madden in a 3-1 victory over Des Moines, Friday in Kearney.
Madden netted his 11th of the season at the 18:56 mark of the second period and its his fifth since joining Tri-City at the end of December.
Tyler Ward got Tri-City on the board first at 2:17 in the second to tie it up at one. Nicolas Werbik of Des Moines scored the Buccaneers only goal of the night in the first period (5:57) for his 11th tally.
Friday's win moves the Storm to 19-9-0-1 (39 Pts) and keeps them in second place of the Western Conference standings behind the Fargo Force.
Des Moines takes another shot at the Storm on Saturday at 7:35 p.m.
