Standout Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Performers Honored
The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 12.
Offensive Players of the Week: Jameel Sewell (QB, Nebraska Danger)
After an injury plagued start to the 2014 campaign, Nebraska Danger QB Jameel Sewell has regained his MVP form over the past month of the season. The Danger (8-2) overpowered the Wyoming Cavalry (1-9), 83-47 on Friday night, making it 4 wins in a row for Nebraska. Sewell was spectacular in the game, accounting for a franchise record 9 TDs. Sewell completed 11 of 17 passes for 204 yards and 5 TDs, adding 71 rushing yards and 4 scores on the ground. Over the past four games the Danger offense has averaged 64 points per game. With the reigning MVP back in the swing of things the argument could be made that the Danger’s best football is still ahead of them, which does not bode well for the rest of the IFL. Next up for the Danger is a road trip to take on the Green Bay Blizzard.
Samuel Charles (WR, Wyoming Cavalry)
Cody Kirby (QB, Bemidji Axemen)
Houston Lillard (QB, Tri-Cities Fever)
Clinton Solomon (WR, Texas Revolution)
Defensive Player of the Week: Brandon Rankin (DL, Tri-Cities Fever)
In one of the best games thus far in the 2014 season, the Tri-Cities Fever (4-6) squeaked out a 51-50 victory over the Bemidji Axemen (5-5) on Saturday night. The Fever have come on of late, winning 3 of their last 4 games to get back into playoff contention in the Intense Conference. The Fever defense applied considerable pressure to Axemen QB Cody Kirby throughout the game, tallying 5 tackles for loss, 4 of which were sacks. Leading the way for the Fever was DL Brandon Rankin. Rankin registered 3 tackles in the game, all of which were sacks, consistently putting the Axemen behind in the down the distance during the contest. The Fever hope to ride the wave of momentum into Texas for a matchup with the Revolution in Week 13.

During the game, Parker was perfect, connecting on both of his field goals attempts (long of 48 yards) and 6-6 PATs for a total of 12 points.
