Storm acquires forward and draft picks in trade
Kearney, Neb. – The Tri-City Storm announced a pair of trades Monday with the Madison Capitols. In the first deal, the Storm acquired second-year F Noah Weber from Madison for future considerations. Tri-City has also picked up a fifth-round pick in the 2018 USHL Phase II Draft for D Chase Pilawski.
Weber scored nine goals, added 19 points and notched four multi-point games with Madison last season. He will wear #9 for the Storm and stands 6-foot, 200 pounds. The 19-year-old skated with Shattuck-St. Mary's from 2014-16, combining for 34 goals and 90 points in two seasons. Weber skated with current Storm forward Charlie Dovorany at Shattuck-St.Mary's.
“I’m excited to join the Storm this season for many reasons,” Weber said. “They have a very professional organization, I have friends on the team now and previous Storm players that have nothing but good things to say about the organization and the community. I’ve always stayed decently close to my home [Eagle River, WI] when playing hockey so being further away will be a nice change of pace. I’m excited to get together with the guys and get to work.”
Madison drafted Weber in the 4th round, 55th overall, of the 2016 USHL Phase II Draft. He is a native of Eagle River, WI.
Pilawski joined Tri-City in February 2017 and scored one goal and five points in 15 Storm games.
