Wingett signs with Memphis, Penny Hardaway

David Wingett has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the University of Memphis next season and receives the final scholarship available to head coach Anfernee Hardaway's 2018 class.

Wingett spent the 2017-18 season at Bull City Prep Academy in Durham, N.C., where he averaged 25.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.

The 6–7 shooting guard/forward from Winnebago, Neb. broke on to the scene of prep basketball in 2015 when he led the Indians to the 2015 C1 state championship. Wingett went on to average 20.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per game over the duration of his career at the northeast Nebraska high school.

Wingett finished his time with 'Bago as the fifth–leading scorer in Nebraska high school history with 2,332 points.
