BDS playing for first state title in girls history
LINCOLN, Neb. —
The co-op of Bruning-Davenport-Shickley used a 23-point second quarter to pull away from Ansley-Litchfield and win a D1 semifinal on Friday, 62-50.
The duo of Mariah Lane and Falan Ryan, who combined for 38 points, wasn't enough to keep the Spartans in the hunt for their first chance at winning a state championship since co-oping.
Megan Grote was the leading scorer for the Eagles behind four threes, helping her to 19 points. BDS hit nine in the game including five of them coming in the pivotal second quarter.
Lexi Kadel added 12 points, scoring a field goal in every quarter and went 2 for 2 on her only free throw attempts.
BDS plays North Central in the D1 championship, Saturday at 11 a.m. in Pinnacle Bank Arena.
