Elkhorn drops Hastings in girls quarterfinal

Elkhorn provided a new challenge and scored two goals against Hastings, the only opponent to do so all year, Friday at the Class B girls state tournament, handing the Tigers a 2-1 loss.

Skylar Heinrich scored twice for the Antlers and her game winner in the second half was her 38th on the year.

Markki Frazier slid behind the defense in the first half to score the equalizer for Hastings.

The Hastings girls having a tremendous season, finishing 16-3 on the year with all of their losses coming against teams qualifying for the elite eight in their respective class.

Norfolk needed a shootout and Columbus won at home by a goal. Since the loss to the Discoverers, Hastings had outscored its opponents 19–1 in the last five games before Friday's loss to Elkhorn.
