Grand IslandSenior High is pleased to announce that Joey Morrison will be the new headwrestling coach for the Islanders. Morrison recently completed his fourthseason as the head coach of the Lexington Minutemen.
CoachMorrison is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Kearney. He was an NCAADivision II All-American, and was a team captain who helped the Lopers to the2008 National Championship. Morrison also received the Dean's AcademicExcellence Award in 2010 while at UNK.
He was a partof three Class A state championship teams at Lincoln East High School, and wasa four-time state medalist himself. He won the 2004 state title at 135lbs.
