Minden's Lovin banks in 75-foot buzzer beater

Minden cheerleaders celebrate a score from the Whippet girls basketball team, Dec. 18, 2017, against Kearney Catholic (KHGI)

Minden and Ravenna went down to the wire as Bluejay senior Kade Lockhorn hitting a pair of free throws with 1.9 seconds left to win, 34-33.

It was clutch, no doubt, but sadly, not an amazing feat of athletic strength.

Approximately 16 minutes of game clock earlier is when the real accomplishment went down.

Ravenna was up 19–17 in the final seconds of the first half when a Trey Mieth three missed and Elijah Lovin grabbed the rebound and let it rip from his hip some 75-feet and cashed it, courtesy the bank.

Perhaps it's all for not because the Whippets ultimately lost the game, but we can take this one step further perhaps by getting him on the SportsCenter Top 10.
