St. Cecilia hungry for the Post-season
2016 was the first time they missed the playoffs in nearly 20 years.
Now St. Cecilia is back with most of their starters looking to take the class C2 district 7 title and make it back to the post–season.
Coach Carl Tesmer returns to the Bluehawks for his 27th season, believing his team with much experience can now make a run for the playoffs again.
"They're being leaders, half of that group are seniors this year and the other half are juniors," Tesmer said. "So they were sophomores and juniors last year, pretty young, but they show up good at camp this summer."
"They went to camps this summer and then we had our own camp," Tesmer continued. "A lot of the knowledge that they have has been a pleasant thing for us because they're not only experienced, but they're teaching the younger kids to."
Armed with a powerful experienced offensive line, led by senior Josh Bohlke.
The six foot all–state candidate joins five other Bluehawks on the front line creating powerful blocking power for the teams run game.
Helping their key offensive threat Grant Farmer do what he does best.
Just working hard in the weight room and just getting stronger," Bohlke said. "You know we just try to get better week to week and hopefully that shows up on the field."
